When running the Setup Wizards for the motor I got the message "Detection failed. Reason: -11". Where can you find information about it and what does that mean?
Same. I'm trying to bring up a large diameter outrunner with FOC and an ABI encoder coming in through the Hall port.
Anyone know what -11 is?
I also guessed on the encoder wiring: A into H1, B into H2, and I into H3. I haven't been able to find any documentation online. Anyone figure this out already?
If it helps, I also had the Detection failed. Reason: -11 problem. I was using a power supply and it turned out that it was limiting the current. Once I increased the current limit, the motor detection started working.
Detection failed is a new error in this given page. If you tell me about that given error and also tell me the error which is behind the page material and it's best essays. I am just trying to take help and also mention some more things for you.
hello, I have a similar problem, I bought two new vesc with firmware 3.38. when I connected to my pc in BLDC tool, it showed a message saying that the firmware was too old. so I began to use VESC tool, I updated the firmware to 3.62 and I was trying to connect the motors clicking in wizard >setup motors FOC, but when I clicked on run detection the light red in the vesc blinked 3 times and appeared a window saying detection failed reason:-11 , so I went to the terminal and there appeared " fault: fault_code_drv", I tried this with and without the receiver conected to the vesc and it gives the same message, I don't know if this information is matter but I clarify that when I conect the receiver with my vesc it always remains blinking , I tried to push "bind" in the transmitter and turn on it and a red light remained in the receiver and a green blinking light appeared in the transmitter however I tried again the whole process and it didn't work. so I have not been able to use the motors, I am not a professional, this is the first time I build a skate , I hope you can help me, thank you
I use two lipo bateries of 8Ah an 22.2 v, conected in serie
I have the same issue with exactly the same hardware setup where the FOC wizard worked before (VESC tool 1.25 and FW 3.62) . I thought the cause of the error was now that I was using the app on my phone to do the wizard, but same result on my laptop with the VESC tool (1.26 i.c.w. FW 3.63) now it doesn't work anymore. Also the red light is blinking 3 times as mentioned before.
I still think my VESC is oké because using the out of the box parameters the wheel turns, both with BLDC and FOC. When using the old wizard, FOC is also not working, only RL but λ is going wrong, after that the red led is blinking 3 times. The only wizard working is the old one for BLDC, I will use that first so I will manage with my bike.
Probably did already like 1500 km with my eBike, it is going quite good so far, but strange that the wizard is not working anymore, was there a software change around the wizard for FOC ?
I am having the exact same problem with one of my VESCs on my dual VESC board (massive fuck) goes to the half life symbol then fails -11, or just fails to calculate the resistance of the motor on FOC.
As Benjamin said before to see what the fault was during detection you need to type faults in the terminal after it happens and it will tell you why it failed
That is the easy part, of course I read the whole topic and especially Benjamin his answers. The thing is, do you know what is the cause of the error ? And can you explain me that in the EXACT same hardware setup it didn't occur before when I setup FOC with the wizard when I used my bike for the first time ? When I try it know with the exact same hardware it occurs, that is the problem.

-11 means that some fault code occurred during detection. You can type faults in the terminal after to see what the fault code was.

Bump, nobody ? Using BLCD mode now because of this problem, it's okay but not ideal.
