E vehicle setup

Hi, may I ask what is the setup for vesc setup on a electric vehicle. The load with driver is approximate 140kg and running with 13S battery and have a 48V 1500W gearless brushless motor. The problem I faced is after motor profiling and ADC setting .when put on the road the vehicle barely moved and the motor is jerking.

Hi,

Please post more details about your setup and configuration. Is it sensorless hub motor?

hi, yes it is sensorless hub motor. i currently have setup of drive current of 30A drive to motor and speed controlled using ADC throttle control.

Most likely you don't have enough torque to start moving properly. You could try with more current. If you know the vehicle speed (s) you would get at 48Vdc, then you can calculate your available traction force with 30Amps, F = 48 * 30 / s (s in m/s, F in N). Probably you need much more current.

Also better would be to use an encoder to get smooth acceleration from startup - sensorless startup requires a somewhat oversized motor.

to allow more current to motor, is it by setting the drive current in motor profiling, or motor setting in general - current. If I set the minimum current which is 10A in general motor setting, will it means that when I start throttle the motor current starts at 10A ?
