VESC TOOL ADC Voltage mapping too low. SOLVED

I’m running my VESC6 with Hall throttle by using COMM 5V ADC1. Unfortunately, VESC tool can map only up to 3.3V, so I can’t use full range of my throttle.

On my other setup with VESC 4.12 and BLDC TOOL I can map and set Max. V to match my throttle at about 3.85V and use full range.

It looks like VESC tool is limited in that respect.

Can VESC TOOL be brought to the same level as BLDC TOOL?

connect hall to 3.3v and you will get full throttle range

COMM doesn't have 3.3V. The only 3.3/5.0V is on switchable voltage HALL connector, Halls are running on 5V(recommended voltage). Maybe I can run halls on 3.3 and split power to throttle from there, but I don't think that this is a good idea. I can add 5,0V voltage divider made out of two resistors, but that is a mickey mouse solution. Changing couple of numbers in the program code will take care of it. Benjamin can you do it? Please.

Hi Ecyclist

the TO is right in using 5V, as most HALL Sensors I know of (e.g. TLE 4905L or GH141F) have their SafeOperationArea starting at 3,8V up to 30V+.

So using a voltage divider (10k+20k) will splitt 1/3 off and does the job, while the throttle is working inside the SOA. As my Wuxing throttle delivers 4V at max I use a simple 1N4148Diode to do the drop and enables me to have input of 0,2V-3,3V which is quite linear.
