Bump up... newbie has same question about the GUI. Would like to know how to simply get the motor to run at any RPM via the VESC tool GUI. Config and parameter setting session runs fine to set up the motor.
Thank for the add'l info. For those who are also new to all of this, here are my steps to replicate.
Using the wizard, I connected and configured the motor/controller. (no details since each situation will be different)
Far right side of GUI, there's an icon of keyboard arrow keys, click it on
Far right side of GUI, there's and icon of RT chartline, click it on
Press an arrow key just for a quick bit to see if the motor responds, if so, then,
Enter an eRPM value and press the Play button next to the value. For example, my Hall effect sensor on my Neo motor sticks out 42 pulses per rev, and there are 7 pole pairs. 42/7=6. So for motor shaft RPM of 1,000 the eRPM is 6,000 in the GUI.
Things should be spinning at this point and you can see a chart of things.

Bottom bar on the left there are 6 input fields.
Top middle field you can enter the required rpm,
After entering RPM value you have to press the 'play' button on the right side of the input field.
When you want to change the RPM the new value must be confirmed/send to the VESC by pushing the play button again.
The other fields can be used for Duty cycle control, Current Control, Position Control, Brake and Handbrake Control.
