2 VESC 100/200 single power on switch

Dear Community,

I've two VESC 100/250; I'd like to use the "ON/OFF" Switch Function, but only one switch for both. I've found this thread#

https://vesc-project.com/node/1547.

If I understood right:

You take a common ground from one VESC route it through the button and then split it to the Switch Contact PIN#3 of VESC#1 and VESC#2

Pls correct me if I am wrong (or give me a thumbs up if I am right).

Kind regards,

Tobias

.

The 100/250 works differently. You need one switch per unit. This is just a jumper. Plug in the jumper and the device is powered.

Thanks Frank, fully understand;

Anyhow, if I'd like to use a single switch for the VESC 100/250 to turn both ON or OFF (and not the jumpers), how should the cabling be done? Can I switch them parallel to a single switch, or does this possible cause a problem with the ground?

I am only worried because a thousend times it is mentioned not to connect the grounds of two VESCs.

Kind regards,

Tobias

A switch is no different to a jumper. Both short the connection. You can't wire both VESC 100/250 to one switch. It would need a circuit with galvanic isolation. You could try to find a switch with two parallel, isolated connections.
