Timeout brake does not seem to work

Hi, yesterday I was fiddling arround with different VESC SIX settings, and after my crash on caster board (with chinese esc) I wanted to set up timeout brake on my moutainboard. Bun unfortunately for me this option does not seem to work for me. I have benchwheel remote setup, dual VESCs with ppm input connected to master, slave via CAN. After I turn off remote while spinning motors at max throttle the VESCs spin motors for like 3-5 more seconds, then they slowly stop. I set up timeout brake for about 400ms so that's a lot less than those 3-5 seconds, and even after that brake does not seem to activate. I set brake current at 7A.

Benchwheel RX recognizes that signal is lost instantly after I turn off remote, led stops blinking and turns constant as when remote is turned off.

With 1s delay and -5a of braking force it works for me.

Maybe the benchwheel remote reciever still sends a signal for a period X. I think this remote also likes to send a full brake ppm signal, when the connection is lost. Some people had accidents because of that. Frank

Yeah that might be a thing, I tried different settings without any success.

I'm quite sure that the receiver continues to send out a signal even when the remote disconnects, and there is no way for the firmware to tell that there is something wrong if there is a signal. You could try unplugging the receiver from the VESC and see if the timeout brake function starts working.
