i used to get this all the time and still do sometimes when wireing up a new vesc. it says unable to read the firmware version, make sure the tx and rx pins are correct rxfrom the bt to tx of the vesc and vise versa.thats your message your getting right?

80% it has ben a bad wire connection for me somewhere along the line but I recyle alot of wire. make sure your grnd is good and not flickering intermittently as well as the led on the ble modual  make sure its rock steady even if you move all the wires up and down.

if you go into the App section of V-Tool under general  and then is the check button for the vesc being paired on and orange or not paired?

what type of esc you have again?

Hi, I'm working on a DIY foil assist project with a Flipsky FSESC 85BS ESC and a 6374 140KV brushless motor. The previous owner tweaked the VESC parameters and now the motor barely spins. When I give throttle on the remote, the motor responds (buzzing sound) but with very little power. I'm trying to configure the ESC with VESC Tool on PC but I have a problem: the ESC is detected on COM11 or COM12, but VESC Tool cannot read the firmware — I've tried all baudrates (115200, 57600, 38400) without success. The BLE antenna is connected correctly. Has anyone encountered this issue? How can I access the VESC configuration?
