Flipsky FSV 6.6 no longer working with new VESC Tool

Hi all.  I dug out my old DIY board today and had to do a re configuration due to the time it sat in storage and the motors were struggling to spin up and other times it would happily spin up one side when accelerating with the remote.  It has a 6 or 7 year old Flipsky FSV 6.6 ESC. I did a configuration via the old version of the android app and it was happy to spin up both motors.  But after my configuration i still couldn't get the remote to set up properly.  It was getting signal because every time I touched the throttle it would make an audible noise from the motors.  At this point I figured it would be a good idea to run the boot loader and update the firmware update.  After the update I discovered that all the new firmware wouldn't let me do the configuration correctly.  After uploading the new software I am now only able to configure one motor at a time and I have 0 reaction from the VX1 remote.

I have tried using the Bluetooth module as well as plugging strait into the PC, neither are working.

The battery is charged and I know its enough because its

Before it went into storage everything worked fine.

Is the ESC just too old now?

PLEASE HELP
