Hi! my ESC (VESC 6 MK VI HP) is listed as having braking current capabilities and I was going to use it as a variable resistive torque on a test rig. Would I need to be able to communicate with the ESC via the VESC tool to activate its braking current capabilities or can I just plug a motor in and push against its spin?
I've had troubles with the ESC and cant communicate with it via the micro-usb port (I inherited the ESC from someone else so the port may not be functioning as no computer can recognise it when plugged in) so would also be interested alternative ways to communicate with the ESC.
