Back to back BLDC motors test setup

Hello everyone,

I have 2 large outer runner BLDC motors which I want to test in back-to-back setup. The setup consists of the motors connected to each other with adapters and a torque sensor in between. Motor A is connected to a 51V battery and motor B has 42V input connected via two different VESCs (SIX MKIV and SIX). The VESCs are connected with a CAN bus.

The purpose of setup is: Motor A is the test motor which is evaluated for torque speed characteristics and motor B is load motor which can be used in current control to load the test motor by increasing the current drawn.

Can the "comparison tool" in motor settings be used for this purpose? I tried the rpm sweep with a set torque value but it didn't do anything. The motors were standstill. Has anyone used this method to test the motors in such settings?

Thanks in advance!
