Hello All,
I am using VESC tool 3.01 and FOCBOX X. Each time I try to connect FOCBOX to my windows 11 laptop, it gives the following error "Could not auto-connect. Make sure that the USB cable is plugged in and that the VESC is powered.". I have connected it before and uploaded the firmware and custom file. Waited for more than 10 seconds and then uploaded the XML file and tried configuring FOCBOX in FOC mode. Then I got the error saying R=0. When I connect the USB again to laptop, it is not able to connect. I was following the instructions from F1TENTH platform.
I tried using 2 cables and also tasted it on different VESC. I am having the same problem. I would be grateful for your assistance.
You probably need to re-flash them via SWD. Problem: The manufacturer thought that a SWD port is not needed for the user. These devices only have pins on the PCB, so you need to open them. Sure you used the 410_411_412 FW?
Yes, I used the 410_411_412 FW. At first, there was no issue in connecting the FOCBOC X. But after many failed attempts to configure the FOCBOX in FOC mode, it started giving issues like it was able to connect and then disconnected almost immediately. Then after reconnecting again it used to give an error. One more thing is, that I uploaded the hex file instead of binary.
It has to be the .bin file. You probably need to open it, get access to the internal SWD pads and upload the FW via SW again.
