Hall count drift

Hi Benjamin

First of all , major thanks for everything you've put into the VESC project! Really great to have an option like this for small EVs and robotics

I have been using mine (firmware 2.18, HW 4.12) in a robotics project, for which consistent position measurement is important. It seems like the hall measurements are drifting - i took a quick video, link here: https://youtu.be/BZGFk5If2ZM

Any idea whats going on? Perhaps also relevant, the motor is behind a 5:1 planetary reduction, and it is using FOC mode

Have you tried with vesc tool and the latest firmware? I think there was a problem with the tacho counting in FOC mode in the firmware a while ago.

Ah ran into a bit of a snag with vesc tool running on my mac (seems it isn't officially supported? )

Upgrading to 3.37 from a VM seems to have done the trick though - Thanks!!
