Hello Everyone
Here is an update of my Hybrid Generator Project that uses VESC. I am attempting to find out how feasible a VESC is for AC to DC Active rectification (Regen Braking).
My current issue is that the control modes currently available don't necessarily mimic the behavior of a traditional Passive Rectifier (Full Bridge). I need to find a control method other than "Current No Reverse with Brake" that decreases torque proportionally to RPM for a given input value.
But here is a first test with the VESC setup:

I'm hoping to start generating some power soon. Will post future updates here, and on my YouTube channel.
@drummerboy5408,
saw your progress on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfjkapVDMpA
I am currently working on similar hybrid setup. (Will cross-link my question here, for future seekers https://vesc-project.com/node/3694)
So, have you figured out overall efficiency of such setup? I mean how much power you can generate from 1 HP of such engine.
AFAIK, it's Turnigy TP-35 engine, and it has 4.1 HP
