EBike "Throttle" / "Brake" Wiring Questions

So I am using a VESC for a project where I am re-doing an Kreweser electric trike-cooler-scooter-thing and have done most of the wiring but hit two spots that I could use some insight on:

1) I have a two wire brake "switch" that is imbedded in the mechanical brake lever (It has mechanical rotor/caliper/pads). I have found wiring diagrams where a VESC has been used with a three wire model (Pos/Neg/Sig) but struggling to figure out how to wire and program this switch. I am assuming one side is wired to ADC2 but I can't find a good source to tell me if the other side should go to Ground or +3.3v or +5v. I am hoping someone in here can shed some light but if not I think I am gonna try going to Ground first since that seems safest for a blind test.

2) My throttle (57X-DX-S) has a keyed switch and 5 segment battery gauge. There are 3 skinny wires that are the throttle (Red/Black/White) that I already wired (+5v/GND/ADC1). It’s the heavier gauge yellow and red that I am not sure of. I have found a diagram that shows wiring to an external relay (48v / 40a) and given the function/current I would assume this is the right way to go but wanted to see if there were any other ideas?

ADC is alwas wired to 3.3V, GND and ADC. there should be a 10K Resistor in between ADC and GND, close to the connector. This will pull ADC low in case the cable snaps and instead of full throttlke you will get zero input and free rolling.  A second ADC can be wired into ADC2 and can be used as a brake.

Thanks Frank. Right now I have the throttle ADC wired into (5V, GND, ADC1) so I guess I'll swap the positive side to 3.3V to be in line with your suggestion. (I had gone with 5v initially cause that is what the original BMC specified for throttle voltage.)

However, the brake side is where I am really confused because it isn't 3 wire and I don't *THINK* its an ADC. Its just a 2 wire momentary switch. I have have also seen references to it being a "Brake-Low"  or "Low Brake" cable/switch/line. I *THINK* the way it has been used in other builds is as a cut off signal to the VESC/ESC/BMC to "cut power" to the motor even if the throttle is engaged (?) but I am not 100% certain.

So being two wire would it be (ADC2/GND) or (ADC2/3.3v) or some other paired connection?
