I have been planning to buy this Gearbox (see link below) for my E-scooter project, it has an option for a IMPSM (Internal Magnet Permanent Stator Motor) the D7500 (linked below), which I assume should work the same way as a BLDC motor with a Vesc, right?
Also the follow up question, is there a way if you get a digital output or "custom" program to get different gearing ratios into the Vesc, in this case, reversing motor direction changes gearing apparently from 1:4.95 to 1:1.95, haven't yet done any custom programming in Vesc, was thinking of when reversing change gearing ratio and assume it's still a "positive" speed i.e. moving forward.
If anyone has input, done it before or has experience it would be much appreciated !
That is a very specific use case and it would need custom programming by someone with the skills to do that. Maybe it can be scripted in the lated VESC-Tool.
Im a software engineer by proffession but I do not so far tried testing some code with the Vesc Tool, however do you know if a IPMSM is compatible with the Vesc ?
The VESC should work fine with IPM motors. There is even MTPA and field weakening support in the latest firmware.
i use yaskawa ac servo motor SGMGH 13ACA61 for my diy direct drive wheel and it works perfectly
flipsky vesc 4.20 with power supply 48v 10amps
Hi, i have custom built an IPMSM and when am trying to run it using VESC. The R, L detection runs fine. But am having troubles detecting flux linkage. Can anyone throw some light on this
