Using VESC for a Linear Motor

Hello everyone,

 

I am wondering if the standard VESC can be used for control of a linear pmsm?

I am using VESC 6 MKIV, can I use it to do position control os a linear motor?
If yes, what are the changes required?

 

Any help would be appreciated.
