Assistance for VESC controlled electric bike

Hello,
So for my High School subject, I have built an electric bike and planned to use a VESC Controller to control it.
I have gotten into the final steps and now need to program the VESC to function correctly, I haven't found a good explanation of how I would do this for something that isn't a skateboard.
The motor is a Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 6374-149KV Brushless Outrunner Motor
And the VESC I have is Flipsky Mini FSESC4.20 50A ESC Based Upon VESC With Aluminum Anodized Heat Sink
If anyone has a good video recommendation or can point towards a similar and solved problem that would be amazing!

Thanks very much in advance!

Hi Mitch,

I have built an ebike and I can tell you, that it is not that hard to do. I am similarly using an RC motor for the drive, though different kv and gearing. Is the motor mount is robust enough? I would not recommend using 3d printed plastic for that, only if you make it very thick. If its metal than it will be probably fine.

So to setup the vesc:

0, start the vesc tool

1, power up the bike,

2, than connect the vesc to the computer via USB.

3, "autoconnect" in bldc tool

4, start motor wizard, follow instructions. I recommend using FOC and sensorless mode.

6, start input wizard to setup your throttle.

7, check if the motor runs fine. If yes disconnect the app from the vesc, than the cable, and you are ready to go... :)

You can found various infos on youtube about setting up, check the videos of Benjamin.
