VESC for RC Powerboat

Hello,

i design a VESC for an rc speedboat....
Here i need an light controller with much power. The origianl BLDC Contoller use 4S and 150A... but more than 5 min driving is to hot.

So i deside to go up to 8s and less Current for the VESC.

I will use TO-220 Fet's with watercooling.

I build an Power and MCU board.

Power:

MCU

The MCU is ready... now i build the Power and watercooling.

You want to move the current sense amplifiers as close to the microcontroller ADC pins as possible. While the differential signal is tiny it is also highly immune to noise and provided you don't wrap the mid voltage or PWM lines around it should be fine to make it to the microcontroller where the current sense amplifier will convert it to a single ended signal while stripping out most of the noise.

It looks like you're running the high gate & mid point signals as a differential pair as well as the low gate and power ground as a differential pair so good!

Might be worth posting the complete schematic so we can point out any gotchas.

Hello,

thank you for you answer. You are right... i place the sense amplifters not near the microcontoller. This is my first layout with vesc. :-)
I read many application notes and do it so. But i think you have much more expirience so this can be a problem. Now the PCB is ready and so i can test it.

Here are the schematics:

Schaltplan.pdf

Power.pdf

The MCU PCB is ready and a can conect via VESC Tool to the conroller.

Have a nice day

Hello,

my VESC is running... :-) Now i want wo play with it.

I have a question. If is hit FULL BRAKE, the my erpm goes up to about 850 rpm.... what does this mean and is this o problem for slow rataion?

What can i do to get this to zero?

Thank you so much

Martin

Hello,

my first big goal... V2.0 from my Hardware is run the first test in my powerboat.... without any problems in FOC.
Thank you for the soft and firmware.

Now i do some more testing and driving and have a look at the Field Weaking for more speed :-)

Have a nice Day
