Pwm+dir input support

maybe in the future vesc can support pwn + dir input, this is used for the force feedback steering wheel project, now i am running a custom firmware that supports pwm + dir but this is an old firmware version, maybe someone can customize the latest firmware

I don't know how useful that functionality would be. Best chance to have PWM + DIR control supported would be to write an app and add it to the code base via https://github.com/vedderb/bldc

It is very useful for the DIY Direct Drive Steering Wheel community. I don't understand coding, maybe someone on this forum can help

I guess your best bet then would be to try the "DIY Direct Drive Steering Wheel" community for some to do the programming. This is a quiet forum mostly populated by spammers and people trying to get others to code their niche use cases into the VESC.

PWM + Direction would be extremely useful as would the industry-standard +/- 10v analog command.

This would open up the market for VESC to be used for general purpose motion control and CNC. Nothing "niche" about this huge market.

"adc & uart", duty cycle reverse button" in the app. settings is very near to your claim. 10v analog input could be applied to an op-amp circuit and adapted to vesc. Maybe using an anolog isolation circuit would be better.
