Battery power

I've got 10s battery running 2 trampa motors I do a lap round a field on soft ground end of the run the battery percentage goes down the board does not want to move until the battery has recovered 5-10 seconds, is this normal?bad vesc settings?or shit battery?.the battery is made of Samsung cells

I'm afraid you need to provide more details to be able to make any assumptions.
To start with, battery details; 10SXP(how many in series and parallel)?, rated amperehours?, Current and voltage limits, typical voltage sag. etc.

By current and voltage limits I meant what you put into the VESC-tool of course ;)

A good tell of your battery beeing in good condition is if the rated amperehours are somewhat similar to what you put into it when charging from empty.
Also if you can meassure cell voltages for each step it will give a clue if any cell is damaged. 

Judging only from what you described in the first post it sounds like the VESC encounters a threshold value, gives out a fault code and probably resumes operation. One example is if you break firmly with a full battery and have put upper tresh. to 42V. A powerful enough break will exceed the threshold and you will experience something similar to what you described.

Have you checked faults on the VESC? Or changed settings to see different behavior etc?

It sounds like it could be the battery voltage sagging & recovering a bit of surface charge, long wires between the battery & the VESC would also hurt this.. can you measure the battery voltage at the battery terminals when it runs & when it doesn't run, and then compare those numbers to what voltages the VESC sees?
