Hi everyone
I am quite new in all this field, I have some general questions, hope you guys can help me
1. When I enter the "Firmware Changelog" tab in the software I can see that the latest updated firmware is 4.02, right?
Is it work with any version of hardware?, in my case my hardware version is 4.12
2. I made a firmware update according to Frank's guide, and now when I connect my vesc it is written on my screen "VESC firmware version 4.2 Hardware version 48"
and like I wrote above, the latest updated firmware supposed to be 4.02 and my hardware is 4.12
What is the reason for that?
3. I know that the following question is not connected directly this forum, but maybe someone know if it is possible to run FOC wizard without ESC sensor wires?
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
1. Yes, 4.02 is the latest ATM and yes, every version is compatible with 4.xx and 6.xx
2. Do the update again through "Custom file" tab and flash a 4.12 FW (you'll find it here https://github.com/vedderb/vesc_tool/tree/master/res/firmwares/410_o_411... )
3. Sure you can ! But it's definitely not recommended to use FOC with HW4.12
hi, why is not recomended use foc on 4.12 hw?
Hi
First thank you for your answers :)
Second, I entered to github and I found there are 5 different files, which one of them should I choose?(I would add a picture but I do not know how to upload here a picture)
And to be honest, I am little skeptical about the FOC wizard mode, How can it read data from the hall sensor when I am not connecting the wires sensor to the vesc?
Thanks again I appriciate your help a lot
