Is it possible to stop a motor at one exact desired location without hall sensor?

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone who has worked on a project to stop the motor at an exact desired location or point without using any position sensors?

You might be able to stop it at a particular pole but without an encoder you wouldn't be able to get better than that.
