Hi, this is my first e-bike build and I am planning to use a VESC controller. Thanks a ton to Benjamin for keeping the project opensource. I have few questions:
1) Does the VESC output battery pack capacity, remaining capacity, voltage, speed etc, on the UART? If yes, can I read this info using a controller to display it on a TFT display?
2) I need to setup a 3-level Pedal Assist System for the ebike. Is there a way I can do it on the VESC? Or do I have to write my own algorithm(i have written one already for arduino). How do I send inputs to the VESC based on that, can I use the servo pins for it?
3) What are the differences between VESC 4.6 and VESC 6.4?
4) Does the VESC have a bluetooth module/wireless communication? What data does it output?
5) Can I use a button to activate regen brakes? What happens to the braking current when the battery is already full? Does VESC cut it off?
6) Is it possible to have a certain RPM only after which the motor starts engaging?
Thanks
Andy!
No response... I would also like to build a VESC electric bicycle but VESC seems to be only for boards.
