We need to have a LED status panel of several vesc 4 Canbus connected. This panel we plan to have one LED (or 3 LED that shows the vesc is ON, when the vesc is receiving throttle input, or if there is any fault). Basically, we want to "extend" the vesc status LEDs status to the "outside"
We asked this question in another forum (while this forum was down a couple days ago), and it was suggested to reassign the led gpio pins in the hw configuration files. That makes more sense, compared to wire a cable directly in the SMD leds on the board (will be a mess with doing that with big possibility to burn something, especially as we need to do this to several vesc units).
So, we have some ports free that we could be reassigned to LED, problem is, we have no clue on how to edit the gpio or the main.c
Currently, we just use the following ports: Hall sensors ports, Canbus (CanH/CanL) and (5V/-/TX/RX)
Is there anyway on vesctool to assign this led output? or someone did something similar and can share this with us or show us how to do it?
