Adding 4 simple force sensors between the trucks and the deck will allow the ESC to detect how much weight, and where it is positioned. This allows the board to detect if there is a rider, if the rider has left the board, or if the board is unbalanced in some way. This adds a lot to safety features, and enables more capabilities.
Has been done already and even used to control the board without remote. In general it adds compelxity and wires and things that can fail.
