Hi!
Newbie to vesc and esk8boards. I'm building a board for my son at UWMilwaukee. Its partially assembled Turnigy VESC v4.10, 6374 Turnigy 192kv motor, 12S LiPo(4x3s in series), Nunchuck, 83mm wheels on a Volador Freeride board, but I'd like to put the lights like I saw in Benjamin's video on too.
After digging through the VESC source code, I found the ws8211 code in there and I'm wondering if it is easy to activate that code and just use it?
Also Saul on esk8.builders recommended I post a question here about hardware modification needed for the lighting. From the video it looked like it was just hooked to the hall connector and V+ and Gnd. Was there any other hardware modification needed for the lights?
Thanks for any help or advice anyone can provide!

I'm having a lot of fun with this! Just wish I was younger and could ride like I used to 30 years ago.
On the VESC6 a hardware modification is not required, you just have to set the hall sensor voltage switch to 5V. I have not tested it for a while though, so maybe it does not work.
Thanks Benjamin,
We have a VESC 4.10.
Does the software just recognize ws8212 LEDs or do I need to change flags in the code to activate that? Or is there something in the config tool to do that?
