Overheating protection, voltage-/current-limitation etc.

Hello people,

Im currently using VESC to control a motor that translates its rotatory motion into translational motion so I can move parts from left to right and vise versa.

I wonder why its seems that VESC limitates the total current to about 20A. There is no "current-barrier" in the settings.

Furthermore, after a few seconds holding the current, VESC seems to decrease the current proportionally and slowly untill it reaches 0A altough a permanent deviation in distance is still given. Ithink it has something to do with some sort of overheating protection.

How can I shut both off?

Stay healthy :)

i would not recommend shutting of your overheating protection. 20A is not much tho
