FSESC 6.6 not Connecting to VESC Tool

I am trying to program a Flipsky ESC 6.6 Dual on Windows. I'm running Windows 10. However, whenever i try to auto connect the ESC, its saying that there is no ESC connected. Its connected to a 10s3p 36v battery and pluged into my laptop using the cables that came with the ESC. Any ideas?

Billyredwood01, when you plug the USB cable, does windows recognize the new connection?

Bad USB cable. Most cheap USB cables are not made for data transfer built rather for charging. Also try going to the connection tab in the left menu and hit the scan buttion right hand side of the baud rate indicator.

could be a issue  with   win drivers, and your device   is load   'some ' drivers.

go to control panel and check  if any device  apear on the list , then unsinatll is  and check   drivers again,  adjust manually PORT com to be sure this is your device, and  then  select that PORT in VESC tool

Also check if the vesc is powered on. If not then you could have damaged the DRV micro in the vesc

If you are not familiar with manual install of windows drivers i'll help, please excuse me if this is to "explained"

Use Win+R to open run type "devmgmt.msc" to open device manager.

If your vesc is plugged in, look at device manager whilst you do this, (unplug the esc), the menu should reload (don't worry if not), If not, connect to a usb port and look for the "reload as mentioned before.

If you see the list of "devices reload" you are missing the required drivers.

An easy to use installer follow this link (personally tested before posting), http://kiss.flyduino.net/download/stm32-virtual-com-drivers-64bit-pc/

Your pc will now correctly address the stm32 processor and will assign it a com port in device manager in ports drop down.

Refresh the list in vesc tool, select the new and correct port.

If drivers are correct, com port selected and still refusing connection, there is an issue with old firmware and new tool (see https://vesc-project.com/node/1363)

Hope this helps

Hi @frank , Seeking for some genuine advice. I'm also facig the same issue. I Just replaced the MCU STM32F405RGT6 of my FSESC 6.7 MINI, which got burnt a while ago. After replacing the MCU, I uploaded the Bootloader using ST-Link V2 utility, which got uploaded successfully. But the problem comes when I open the VESC Tool and try to connect my FSESC through USB cable, It shows an error "Invalid Serial Port: \\.\COM3". Then I tried to connect FSESC using USB TTL (RS232), which didn't work either and shows an error "no firmware read response".

If you have any idea on how to make it work, please guide me.

 Thanks and regards.

Hello JP, probably you have done this, but, have you used the connection tab so you can inspect which COM ports can you detect?? Sometimes when changing firmware the COM port number changes.

Sorted. Bad MCU Soldering. Just reflow the solder and it is back to normal green and blue led is glowing. But DRV8303 is gone.

You will have to use ST-Link Utility to revive the bricked controller.
