I open this thread to put few inputs about the CNC case.
1. The edges of the input power hole are sharp. With vibration I'm afraid that the silicone of wires will be cut making a short at the end (there is already a mark on mine)

Is it possible to smooth the edge with a fillet or chamfer ?
For the moment I would suggest betas to add a little piece a heatshrink to protect the silicone. ;)
BTW, congrats for this great case, it feels like rock solid !
Thanks for the pic - i'll plan on using a file to lightly round the edge.
I just received my two vesc's today. Very nice workmanship!
The leads also has marks from the edge of the casing as well.
Are you going to ship out the rubber casing to us or do we need to buy it? Will make do with shrink wrap for now.
Yes I know it has to be made. Was requesting information about once it was made.....
I recall that they would be sent when made - to all the BETA users as it should give us some weatherproofing.
I'll let Frank/Ben/etc confirm though.
Taking the VESC apart and putting it together is fairly easy, the only problem, as I confirmed today, is that the heat pad under the MOSFETs gets damaged easily in the process. Maybe a new heatpad is required as well when adding the rubber seal.
Just in case, is there a special heatpad you recommend? What should be the thickness and the thermal conductivity?

I remember Frank telling that the silicon/rubber sealing would be sent to us free of charge :-) At least I think I paid for it, as it is included in the product description (even the beta-description). Maybe I misunderstod something :-P
Jup, I remember that, too. I think that statement he told us in the past cant be misunderstood.
Also from Benjamins first post in the VESC 6 BETA thread:
"For now the VESCs will be shipped without a rubber seal for the cables and cover since the mold for it takes more time, but once it is ready we will ship it to you."
I do this with Silicon Rubber.

I have another input for the case :
2. It's impossible to screw the VESC from the top because of top PCB holes which are too small to let the M5 screw going through.
If I screw from the bottom, the screw is stucked when arriving to the PCB : http://hpics.li/634833a

i have test it with my heat gun and 15sec under full power befor the belt start to melt. i hope the vesc never became so hot :)
