Custom PCB based on 6.4

Dear all,

i build a custom PCB based on Benjamin's schematic v6.4 in ring shape.
It is used in a DIY diver propulsion vehicle. I did small modifications (remove NRF, change some parts) and add a custom app to the firmware to use hall sensors for trigger and speed-adjustment.

If this is interesting for you, feel free to have a look at https://github.com/CTSchorsch/gsvesc and https://github.com/CTSchorsch/bldc

I think my modifications to the firmware are fare away from the way, how to do it correct. Maybe someone can help me to do it right

comments are appreciated

Regards

Georg

Hi Georg,

this looks great!  I'd been wondering how difficult it would be to develop a custom shaped PCB...  my application is an ebike motor which I've been developing over the last 3 years.

What are the dimensions (ID, OD and height)?  And how many layers is the board?  Are those caps different to the normal VESC ones - they look more compact?  Apologies if this info is in the links...  I'm a mechanical engineer and don't know how to open PCB layout files...

Thanks for sharing and hope the project goes well!

Hi Mark,

thanks, the pictures are from the prototype version. at the moment i design a new one but the mechanical outlines are the same. ID: 49mm, OD: 111mm. The height is defined by the caps with round about 25mm. But i change the caps in the new version to wired ones like on the VESC. The PCB is a four layer one with 2oz copper on the outer layers.

The complete design can be placed more compact if needed and there is a little margin to shrink the PCB
