Hi, may I ask will there be a feature where I can read rpm of motor through tachometer instead of measuring rate of phase change? Due to I am using a geared hub motor with built in free wheeling clutch. I know the rpm of motor with gear ratio included but when I stop throttle the motor I could not read the rpm of motor in free wheeling mode.

Beacuse the gearbox is freewheeling and not turning the motor, there is no signal that the vesc can use to determine motor speed. You would have to add an external sensor to the wheel.
Even if the motor is not being powered the vesc wil track and provide a speed measurement from the motor. In this case the motor is not turning.
