BLDC vs FOC mode, motor‘s spin direction is invert

Hi,everyone

Is there anyone can explan why  motor's spin direction is different between BLDC mode and  FOC mode?

Using my board (VESC6 verion)  , spin direction is CCW in BLDC mode, it will be CW in FOC mode ...wierd ?

the video shows  --- it work OK  in FOC mode.

I just don't understand  why the spin  direction is invert ? how that happened ?

Hi

do you have HALL Sensors or sensorless. In sensorless the Motor should spin before the VESC helps you doing the rest.I'd only talk about Sensored mode and both modes use the same direction....

Do not take this as technical explanation; just a comment from my tour through the VESC.

Cheers

Sam

This is actually rhe expected behavior, which is a consequence of how the commutation is handled fundamentally differently. You can use the invert direction option when switching between bldc and foc.
