Using reverse with a spare channel

I'd like to add reverse to my board, but I don't want to control it directly via the throttle channel.  I'd prefer a separate input to the VESC that tells it I want reverse mode, and then I'd use the throttle channel to control the speed in reverse.  Does anyone know if the VESC has any such input?

Thanks very much!

Nunchuck app has such functionality: one of the buttons controls motor direction, the joystick works as throttle. Otherwise you can use VESC – Writing Custom Applications tutorial on vedder.se to implement the functionality you want (though some tweaks needed for VESC 6).

Thanks very much.  I take it that Nunchuck is a different controller, not just different firmware - right?

I like the idea of writing a custom app for the VESC.  I hope that's not just a way for me to let the smoke out though. :)

VESC works with wireless Nyko Kama Wii controller. VESC has an app, called Nunchuck... Hope I understand you correctly.
