Using ABI Encoders

Hey guys,

I'm new to the project, and so far could set up the board with a tMotor Antigravity 4006 to work with PPM input and sensorless PID speed control.

I've been trying to connect an ABI encoder (AMT 102) to the GND/H3/H2/H1/5V pins normally used for Hall encoders. But I do not get any position signals, although I turned the encoder also to pass the Index mark.
Using HW 4.12 with the up-to-date firmware, and the VESC tool 0.95.

My question: Is it still necessary to remove C5, C6, C7, R11, R12 and R13, and replace R8, R9, R10 with 0-20 Ohm resistors in order to use position measures or was this only necessary with the BLDC tool?

Appreciate any help and tips smiley
Daniel

Ok so far I've figured out that I do NOT have to unsolder anything from the board, ABI encoder seems to work fine. Maybe problems will occur with high frequencies since the signal is smoothed too much?

Still I do miss the position control input in VESC tool, it was there in BLDC tool. surprise
Trying to implement UART with Arduino now, to have a position input! There are great forum threads about that here.
