Under-voltage fault with PMSM powered by bench supply

Hey guys. I am building a small wind turbine and want to run tests on my generator using a "back-to-back" configuration where a PMSM is driving my generator (stepper motor). I am using VESC 6 MKIII to drive the PMSM, but I have some issues with the setup wizard in VESC Tool. The most important part for me is to know how much power the output shaft of the PMSM is driven with (simulating wind power), and real-time data screen shows this. However, I am not sure whether it is correct. I am using a bench power supply to power the VESC/PMSM, and it is set to 24 V with a current limit of 2 A. This leads me to believe that my maximum power loss is 24*2=48 watts. When the setup wizard runs the detection, I get the under-voltage error. I have to lower the max power loss setting to 10 W in order the avoid the error. What is happening here?

Additional configurations I use:

Battery type: BATTERY_TYPE_LIION_3_0__4_2

Battery cells series: 6

Battery current regen: -2.0 A

Battery current max: 2.0 A

Your limits might be too low. You should try a smaller VESC like the VESC 6 EDU when using that small currents.
