From what I gathered from Benjamin, the vesc 6 will be made publicly available once further testing is completed. Some people already grabbed some from trampa who are working with Benjamin so HW wise they should be pretty close to final, if not already completed, and software I believe is currently in a sort of beta phase.
As far as producing your own goes, Benjamin released some schematics and a few pictures of the layout around May.
Though I am unsure how much, if any, has changed from then and now.
I am currently working on my own as tossing in $300 for a board was a bit on the high side for me, though my current progress has come to a halt as my motor frequently gets bad detection on it. If you manage to get one working that would be fantastic.
I wonder if it is possible to make a less expensive version, using cheaper Cortex M4 version and different FETs.On top of that , two board configuration (FET driver, current amps and FETs on one board, logic and communication on another) looks interesting too...

Thanks!

heh, i'm wanting to push the design for bigger motors...
i want to have off-board fet/igfet modules...
in fact, if the mpu has enough head room, perhaps it could drive multiple motors with off-board final drivers...
william...
Make a search and you'll find :-)
A lot of things are on this forum and on the old one http://vedder.se/forums/
Up to 150kW!!!
Have a Nice Day.
