Got my first Trampa VESC recently and am working hard on a big project for it. I made a video going over it all, and this will possibly be the first in a series of videos coving this build.

Cool. I enjoyed the video. I converted an outboard. It is a low power low budget project, nothing like your level of sophistication. I used a flipsky 75100 and a cheap 1kw bldc. I just removed the old engine and mounted the BLDC motor to the outboard rigs driveshaft using a flexible coupler from aliexpress. It works very well! My problem right now is that I used a small 2hp outboard that cant take a big enough propeller. My battery can produce more current then the outboard can use before hitting max rpm. So next phase will be to change to a bigger outboard rig. I will follow your project with great interest. I think its really worth taking the time to pick the right outboard. Just looking at the outboard power rating will lead to you to choose a to small outboard/prop since the outboard hp ratings are a bit misleading. I also think its worth looking at utilizing the outboard's impeller pump for liquid cooling of the motor and controller. I would mount the controller on the outboard for liquid cooling and for simpler wiring. That also allows for using any battery with the motor. But ofcourse your setup also has benefits if you want to use the battery for running other motors.
