I own a Ryobi 480e riding mower and admin a Facebook group for these 48v mowers. The drive controller on these mowers has a moderate failure rate. I'm trying the Flipsky vesc.
What a learning curve, I've never used any programmable controller before. I set up the high torque low speed 1500w motor. The axle has a gear ratio of 10.4 to 1. I tried it with and without hall sensor with no difference so stayed with non sensored for simplicity.
After figuring out all the settings the mower has more torque and better throttle response than ever before. Next is to replace the 2 blade controllers with a Duel 100 a Vesc. These motors are low torque high rpm 1200w direct drive.
One question I have is during motor detection it shows 153 amps. Is that max phase amps or contious amps?
Anyway here's my setup video only 8 minutes long. https://youtu.be/rhI539TZhZk?si=_Vea9DdZTy8YWTk9
Thanks for the video, I've replaced the ryobi drive controller with Flipski but used the 200a version inplace of the 150a.
My issue is around reverse, I've tried setting it for ADC with the same settings as your video but I get no change when selecting F N R on the hardware button.
When using the laptop VESC tool, I can control it all via the UART, but when set to ADC, it's forward only regardless of switch position.
Any help or pointers are appreciated
