Motor is too loud, are there settings to quiet it?

Hello,

I have bought a Flipsky Mini FSESC4.2 and a Flipsky 6374/140KV motor in hopes of retrofitting a ceiling ventilation fan in our camper truck. But it seems it's quite a bit louder than the brushed original and I'm hoping there is some setting I have overlooked that might quite it.

The original brushed motors in the MaxxFan we use tend to eat up the copper commutator in about 15 months of use. Astonishingly, the brushes are fine, full length, and the softer alloy of the commutator wears away. So, In hopes of converting to brushless, I selected this motor as it is physically very similar in size and shares the same 8mm shaft diameter, But when I'm bench testing it and sweeping the RPM, the cogging effect of the motor seems to resonate through the table and I suspect the roof panel of our camper will be worse.

I'm happy to post a video showing what I'm talking about if the consensus is that this is something that should be addressable with the correct settings.

But if there is any hope and this is normal, then I'd appreciate knowing before I sink a bunch more time into it,

I should mention that I have found the motor switching frequency, and obviously when it's down near 10kHz it's very audible, and at 25kHz or more the switching sounds go away. But there is still a low frequency thudding sound which I believe is from the motor poles cogging.

Hi Jason, I too am taking a close look at the same Flipsky controller (haven't purchased it yet) in the hopes it will provide quieter & smoother operation for my electric quad (a Venom Grizzly) which now has a 3,000 W motor and a 1,500 W controller, both of unknown manufacturer and specs.  I'm new to this and am trying to figure out if the Flipsky unit will work with my motor at all.  As I understand it now, the Flipsky provides FOC (sinusoidal?) output so I anticipate that may make a difference in noise vs the trapazoidal o/p I believe my current controller makes, at least judging from the sound it makes.

Mine too does noticeable cogging especially at low speeds and I suspect that would be the case even for a sinusoidal controller(?).

Anyhow, I hope someone knowledgeable in the topic responds.  Would also appreciate hearing any other comments you may have on the Flipsky unit.
