CAN defect? 4WD - CAN does not detect anymore... HELP!

Hello everybody,

I have just finished building my 4 wheel drive mountainboard, using 2x  Flipsky Dual FSESC 4.20.
Both VESCs are connected via a CAN cable.
Each of the 2 VESCs is powered by a seperate 13S LIION battery.

All 4 motors on the board worked just fine for a few hours, until 3 of them suddenly stopped working while driving. The board can still be driven, but only one motor still works.

I have now tried to reconfigure the VESCs again, but did not have any success.

Using the VESC tool, the Master VESC (remote is connected here) does only detect 1 of the 2 motors at a time. (rear axle)
The Slave VESC still detects both connected motors via VESC tool. (front axle)

I have tried resetting the Firmware, but this still dod not help.

Is there any possibility, that my Master VESC (CAN-system) is permanently damaged?
Can the problem be, that both VESCs are powered individually?
I have read, that the CAN-system can be damaged under specific circumstances.

It would be great to get some support, as I don't really know how to detect the mistake.

Thank you very much!

Are Can_L on all drivers, Can_H on all drivers and GND  on all drivers connected? Using separate batteries, it maybe necessary to  connect GND on all drivers. If one battery is shared by all drivers, then it may not be necessary to connect GND on all drivers.

As testing each two driver with new configuration, the problem could be found.

  1. Thenks for your answer!

I have connected both VESCs with a Can Cable like this:

https://shop.elektro-skateboard.de/eigenbau-tuning/zubehoer/586/can-bus-...

So only the middle 2 pins are connected.

Can you tell me, which Pins are Can_L , Can_H and GND?

Thank you very much :)
