The first fraction of braking actually accelerates my board.

So ever since the last 2 versions of the vesc firmware, I've noticed that the very first fraction of braking actually accelerates the board forward. If I lift the wheels off the ground and try move my throttle just the tiniest bit backwards to brake, I can actually get my wheels to spin forwards, then of course further backwards is braking as normal. I can feel this when riding. It's a little disconcerting when your board accelerates for a brief moment before braking. Any idea whats causing this? I've checked that this isn't coming from the remote and it definitely isn't. Forward and reverse signals are moving in the correction direction.

Is the motor being run in foc or bldc mode? Are you running the motor sensored or sensorless?

This is probably hardware related. If the signal is negative, the motor should not spin.

Any idea how I can troubleshoot it? This did not happen 2 versions ago, this specifically started happening after a firmware update and I'm not able to roll back my firmware.

Did you try again the FOC motor wizard. Possibly Your hall sensor position detection parameters have been lost during upgrade ?

I am having the exact same issue.  Just set up a Dual FSESC 6.6+ with a VX2 remote & FS 6374s. Ran FOC motor wizard, sensored, a few times but no improvement.  The signal coming from the remote looks proper as well.  Has anyone found the cause or solution to this?

can confirmed experienced something similar with

Flipsky Dual VESC 6 plus + Flipsky VX2 remote

applying tiny bit of brake (pulling back the thumb trigger) would accelerate the board instead of braking.

Therefore, whenever I need to apply a large magnitude of brake that exceed that bullshit "accelerate" dangerzone.
