Hello,

Does anyone know how to compile the firmware for the MINI4 ?

Should I do something more than to define "HW_VERSION_MINI4" in conf_general.h and upload the "VES_default.bin" file from the "60" folder to the MINI4 ?

Thank you

Hi kb101,

no matter what BLDC you are using you always want low RDS_on FETs (perhaps the better low Voltage versions) as well with the full amount of Cs capable on the board. The small ceramic capacitors are far off their spec when used under low voltages. So using more than needed let you work in the (very) Safe Operating Area instead of "on the rim to crash" like a lot of other overspec'ed electronic.

Cheers

Anton,
at the beginning you showed a round design for a marine motor application. NEMA seems to be some sizing standard for North America, but can also be found at Asian suppliers. Are you aware of any VESC hardware designs fitting for a NEMA 23/24/34 size motor? Seems like there is a host of BLDC motors becoming available in those sizes (12/24/36/48 V and up to 60 A or so) together with a host of standardized planetary gears as well.

Hello,

Thank you very much for sharing your version. I used it to make a specific vesc for my application in round pcb version. However, I don't understand why I have a wrong current measurement. The false current measurement increases exponentially by charging the motor. I also have a duty cycle value floating switching between -3% and + 3% when motor is not spinning. Do you have any leads so that I can solve this problem? Thaanks for help :)

Has anyone used these successfully with am IMU for a balancing application?

I just found out about the MINI4; saw Holybro picked up manufacturing these. Are there any practical examples of the MINI4 in use on a multirotor aircraft? As for max current, watts are watts, right? Assuming a 20A max, 48V (12S) would come out as 960W. If I run the ESC at 22V (6S), is it correct to say that the max amps would be about 44A? Thanks.

Yes, I'm looking at the Holybro version too. Wanting to put it inside the aluminum foil mast of an efoil. That way it will be directly water-cooled at all times. But, to lift the foil off the water, an initial burst of around 30-40 A during a few seconds will be needed. After that, 20 A should be sufficient. So now to my question(s):

The retailer spec says 48 V and max continuous current 20 A, with bursts up to 40 A. It is unclear to me what is meant by a burst (duration?). And is there any other concern than overheating associated with high current? That is, could I run for example 40 A continuously as long as heat is efficiently dissapated from the device?

According to the BOM the device features NTMFS5C604NLT1G FETs. Their datasheet specs 60 V and > 200 A. Is it these FETs that limit max current in the ESC that Holybro sells? If not, is it just that they are difficult to cool without heat sink, or what else would it be? Thanks for any useful input.

Testing VESC mini 4 maytech with ABI controller AMT10 Series Datasheet - Modular | Incremental | CUI Devices

I connected H1 to A H2 to B H3 to X

I set general / encoder to abi 2048

I set in FOC/general/sensor mode encoder

when I look in RT position make 360° in less than 25° off motor rotation..... and it's eratic....

when I try to start in speed mod, one time it goes ccw, and another time cw.

Somebody tell me that there is resistors to disolder for it works.

Maybe H1/A H2/B H3/X is not the good order?

please help me.
