Low power VESC - any available

I am considering to use the vesc for a small 1:18 car, so 3s LiPo and a little brushless sensored motor. Just playing with it, only thing I really need is FOC, PID speed and maybe UART controlled.

Do you know of any company selling such? The Mini4 is certainly an option. Anything else?

Or should I go with the original 4.10 PCB I have and simply replace the large capacitors with ...... which?

How much current do you need it to handle?

20A? 40A?

Little, as it is about precision rather than speed or acceleration. The only thing I don't want is Reflow Soldering it myself.

What kind of capacitors would you recommend for the Vesc 4.10 in case 3s and 20A is sufficient? The original capacitors are too large in size/space.

Thanks in advance

Depends if the battery is near the ESC.

If yes, you can use lower value, but more, if you use lower voltage, they will be really smaller!

Mini 4 don't use large can at all.

Have a Nice Day.

Just out of interest; what motor are you using?

Yes, battery will be very close to the ESC. As said, all space confined. 3s (12V) max.

Sorry to bother, but would you have a concrete capacitor in mind? With link maybe? I sort of understand what it is for and that its internal resistance is more important than anything else but lack the actual practical experience what that means. Hence asking such trivial question.

These are the kinda caps you want. Just find one that is the right size. The rated ripple current is normally directly related to the ESR.
